Green City Festival in Ulaanbaatar
15 mai 2011
The Green City Festival in Ulaanbaatar began last weekend... and is taking place in all cities across the country. It's an opportunity for urban families to plant a tree.
The population of Ulaanbaatar is celebrating the "Green City" festival every weekend throughout the month.
Organized by the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism, the festival kicked off Friday afternoon with various artistic performances. Dances, songs, parades through the main streets, as well as foot races, conferences, and trade shows are on the program for this festival, which will continue throughout the month.
Various themes will be explored over these three weeks:
- Week 1: Green spaces and forests
- Week 2: Water
- Week 3: Nature protection
The ministry will also present its program for nature development and protection during the final "Green City" weekend.
